Independent insurance agents: What are your biggest challenges?
National Underwriter Property & Casualty and the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) present the 2019 National Underwriter/PIA Independent Agent Survey.
National Underwriter Property & Casualty, in partnership with the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) will survey NU P&C readers and PIA members in a project whose findings will provide deep, revealing insight into the challenges, needs, and demographics of independent Property & Casualty insurance agents across the U.S.
The third annual survey, which launches this week, will be hosted online by renowned intelligence firm Flaspöhler, part of NMG Consulting, with which National Underwriter has enjoyed a long and successful editorial relationship. The questionnaire will be distributed to NU’s proprietary lists of agents and brokers nationwide as well as PIA’s national membership.
Key highlights of this research project will be shared in print and online as a data-rich cover feature of charts, graphs and editorial analysis in National Underwriter’s February print edition, as well as on PropertyCasualty360.com.
Voice of the independent agent
This survey gives a voice to independent agents to share with the entire P&C industry exactly what’s on their minds. Among other things, it will reveal what they desire most from carriers; how they perceive the P&C market and changing distribution channels; how their commissions are structured; what their greatest technology challenges are; and what these professionals need to help grow their books of business.
The inaugural Agent Survey, which debuted in March 2017, provided the most comprehensive look ever offered at the demographics, books of business, selling practices and pain points of independent agents in the U.S. The 2018 Agent Survey yielded additional valuable insights for agents and carriers alike. We’re eagerly looking forward to reading what independent insurance agents have to say this year, so please be sure to participate in the survey.
Independent agents can look for the email invitation to the survey link beginning this week.
