Of all the frights and horrors to scare individuals this Halloween, none should be more alarming than the numerous risks robust with insurance implications. While young children tend to be considered most at risk on Halloween, adults have plenty to be concerned about. Like other popular holidays, many people will find themselves drinking this Halloween. This, combined with heavy foot traffic from trick-or-treaters and other party-goers, could present a multitude of risks for drivers. Homeowners beware, you're in for a scare
Homeowners also have plenty to fear. Halloween can sometimes end in homes being egged or covered in toilet paper — leaving homeowners to file a claim if extensive damage occurs. Additionally, as neighbors and strangers alike roam neighborhoods, a homeowner could be liable if an accident, like a slip, trip or fall, occurs on one's property. Homeowners should speak with their agent or carrier to understand their deductible, current discounts and how filing a claim may impact their premiums. Although Halloween is revered by many for its spooky elements, avoiding risky insurance scenarios is a terror all insureds will want to avoid. As always, being prepared is the first step.
