The Philadelphia Chapter of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF)’s Northeast Division held a trivia night for charity on Oct. 10, 2018. The organization raised $15,000 for Peter’s Place, a grief support center for children and families based in Radnor.

Applied Systems has donated $35,000 to InVEST’s program. The contribution coincides with Applied Systems’ 35th anniversary this year.

H.W. Kaufman Group has been recognized as the winner of a 2018 BEST Award by the Association for Talent Development. The company was the only specialty insurance organization out of 45 global award-winning companies to receive the honor.

Care Bridge International has launched its new website. The new website will feature access to content and tools useful in learning more about streamlining and improving claims and risk management using technology.

USI Insurance Services has acquired Philadelphia, Pa.-based Beneficial Insurance Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Beneficial Bancorp Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Catastrophe risk modeling firm AIR Worldwide has developed a probabilistic model for cyber risk capable of accounting for security breach and cloud service provider downtime incidents for insurance portfolios worldwide. The new model will be due for general release on Oct. 31, 2018.

Appulate has launched a new medical insurance for pets program through Trupanion, a leader in medical insurance for cats and dogs. The program is available in all 50 states.

Zurich North America has entered into an agreement with program administrator Allied Public Risk LLC to provide a full range of insurance coverage to select cities, towns, boroughs, counties and special service districts with populations under 100,000. Zurich will begin writing the MuniPlus program on Nov. 1 with a policy effective date of Jan. 1, 2019.

Global law firm Clyde & Co has launched its North American Specialty and Investigations team. It will advise insurance clients on matters that require investigative and risk expertise as well as the ability to act in a variety of legal contexts and forums.

Insgroup Inc. has acquired Houston-based Fred Brown & Cos., which includes Fred Brown Insurance Brokerage and Fred Brown Property Casualty. The deal closed Sept. 1, and financial terms were not disclosed.
