U Scope boosts Hurricane Florence recovery efforts with free software

Technology solution provider U Scope gave $1 million worth of free inspection software to the insurance industry to assist with the damage caused by Hurricane Florence. As a result, approximately 2,500 adjusters and contractors were able to utilize the time-saving features of the provider’s PHOTO iD technology during Hurricane Florence over the last few weeks, says Earl Randolph, vice president of operations for U Scope Technologies.

“We wanted to do something as a company to help hurricane victims get their claims processed quickly and accurately,” U Scope Chief Sales Office Steven Bachman said in a statement. “By allowing claims adjusters to utilize the app’s premium features for free, we felt that we could help accelerate the process of getting victims back into their homes.”

Changing the claims process

U Scope allows inspectors to leave the damaged property with all of their images labeled, group sorted and organized on a detailed photo report without hindering their normal inspection process. PHOTO iD also lets them share images and collaborate remotely with other team members via a web app in order to process claims faster. But the app isn’t just for adjusters.

“Although the PHOTO iD app was originally designed to assist property adjusters, contractors and home appraisers while inspecting properties, the user-flow of the app is so easy to use that even most homeowners will be able to navigate through the app to document their loss in the event they need to mitigate their damage prior to an adjuster’s inspection,” says Randolph.

Some of PHOTO iD’s features include a multi-interface inspection camera, pre-labeled room images for simple organization, open camera compass and pitch gauge and more. U Scope recently exhibited its technology at the InsureTech Connect conference in Las Vegas earlier in October.
