Every country is dangerous to some degree, but it's no question that some are riskier than others. While many of us living in the U.S. perceive our country to be relatively safe and secure, this is not the case to many with an outside perspective. In fact, it might be safer to live outside the U.S., according to InterNations, which recently published the 2018 Expat Insider Survey. For the 2018 survey, 18,135 expats living in 187 territories and countries provided insights into what it's like to live and work in 68 places, focusing on topics such as quality of life, working abroad, cost of living and more. Where an individual lives factors into the type of insurance coverage one might need. Certain countries are more susceptible to threats of terrorism, political insurrection or extreme weather events. Managing such risks has vast implications for any insurer looking to provide coverage for individuals living in such countries. Out of 68 countries, here are the 15 most dangerous places to live, ranked from least to most dangerous, according to Forbes.
