Ethos Specialty Insurance Services, Ascot Group’s U.S. MGU platform, has appointed Rory Cline as president and CEO. He joined Ethos Specialty at its inception in 2017 and most recently held the role of chief underwriting officer.

Prior to this, Cline served as president of Ascot Specialty U.S., a position he held since 2009. In a career that has spanned over 35 years, he has held a number of senior management positions in both primary insurance and reinsurance including being the founding CEO of MGU, DirectFac, in 2004.

“Rory has been a long-standing employee of Ascot and understands our values and the culture we have,” Andrew Brooks, Ascot Group CEO, said in a statement. “Since joining Ethos at its foundation last year, he and the team have done an excellent job taking the company from a start-up MGU to a serious player in the market — and he’s the right person to lead them into their next phase of development.”
