People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: Aug. 31, 2018

Michael J. Foy, president of Foy Insurance Group, has been named chairman of the board of the Network of Vertafore Users (NetVU). Foy served as chairman-elect of the NetVU this past year and replaces outgoing chairman Brent Rineck.

American International Group Inc. (AIG) has named John P. Repko executive vice president, chief information officer, effective Sept. 4, 2018. He is joining AIG from Johnson Controls where he served as the global chief information officer since 2016.

Marsh Duncan has been appointed senior vice president U.S. specialty programs for Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. Duncan previously served as head of digital business development at Argo Group.

The Hartford has named George Parks head of sales and field operations for national accounts in the company’s specialty commercial business. Prior to joining The Hartford, George spent his entire career at Marsh, most recently as the U.S. casualty practice sales leader.

Munich Re Specialty Group Ltd. of London has announced the following additions to its underwriting team:

• Steven Weiss - senior vice president/chief underwriting officer of ocean and inland marine insurance
• Ben Tucker - senior vice president/chief underwriting officer of specialty insurance including cyber, terrorism/PV and financial lines

Dennis Kearns has been appointed head of distribution & major trading partner engagement for QBE North America. Most recently, he was senior vice president, transactional liability and financial institutions underwriting leader for QBE North America’s specialty business.

At-Bay cyber insurance has announced that Brett Sadoff will join the company as head of insurance, effective Sept. 1, 2018. Sadoff is joining At-Bay from Hiscox where he served as head of field and Hiscox partner since 2009.

Kurt Bock will retire as CEO of COUNTRY Financial, effective Jan. 31, 2019, after serving in the leadership role for seven years. Prior to serving as CEO for COUNTRY Financial, Bock served as the COO of Horizon Hobby from 2008 to 2012.

AXIS Insurance, the insurance business segment of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, has announced that James “Jay” Hamilton has been appointed to the newly created role of global head of accident & health insurance. He joined AXIS in 2010  and served for eight years as executive vice president and CEO, North America Insurance, for the company’s accident & health business unit.

SIAA (Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance) has announced the following promotions:

• Steve Tombarelli - senior vice president, business expansion & innovation
• Jeff Holmes - senior vice president, agency operations & development

International specialist insurer Hiscox has announced three appointments to its U.S. field and underwriting management teams:

• Rick Wong - regional executive for the Northwest
• Meghan Hannes - cyber product head
• Tyler Peterson - miscellaneous professional liability product head
