Aon plc has appointed Charles Scheerer assistnat vice president. Most recently, he managed the European wine portfolio at Gabriella Fine Wine Importer in New York City, handling import logistics, alternative investment consulting and international risk management solutions.

Paul Lavelle has been appointed chief claims officer for Zurich North America, effective Sept. 4, 2018. Lavelle most recently served as senior vice president, North America claims operations at Allied World Assurance Company.

RT New Day LLC (formerly New Day Underwriting Managers) has named Drew Rothman a consultant within the national environmental and construction professional liability practice group. Prior to joining RT New Day, Rothman spent more than 10 years as a litigation attorney specializing primarily in construction, architectural and engineering cases at various law firms based throughout the greater Philadelphia, Penn. area.

Rich DeMartis has been appointed the new membership director for Michigan PIA (MIPIA). He has spent the majority of his career supporting and consulting independent agency owners, brokers, aggregators, producers and CSRs.

EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants announced that Sam Siddons has joined the firm’s property & casualty practice as a principal. SIddons joins EPIC from USI Insurance Servies in Austin, Texas, where he was a sales executive.

Andrew Hickman has been appointed global head of data science within Marsh‘s broader digital, data and analytics practice. He joins Marsh from Experian DataLabs where he most recently served as vice president of applied research.

Phoenix-based CopperPoint Insurance Companies, a regional multi-line commercial insurance company, announced Jennifer J. Johnston has joined the company as chief marketing officer and executive vice president of marketing and communications for the CopperPoint Family of Insurance Companies. Most recently she served as chief strategic marketing officer for PMA Companies and Old Republic Insurance Group.

Matthias Weber has joined the board of directors of cyber risk analytics startup CyberCube. Weber is the former group chief underwriting officer and member of the group executive committee at Swiss Re.

Assurant Inc. has appointed Jeff Unterreiner president, U.S. connected living. Previously, Unterreiner served as senior vice president of Assurant’s global connected living team.
