The Workers' Compensation Institute's (WCI) 73rd annual Workers' Compensation Educational Conference (WCEC) kicked off at the Orlando World Center Marriott on Monday. At the opening general session, scholarships were presented to two deserving students whose families had been affected by a work-related injury. NU's editor-in-chief Shawn Moynihan also presented awards to this year's three winners of the Workers' Compensation Risk Management Award, co-sponsored by Sedgwick and Safety National. The morning concluded with a light-hearted speech about family and values by football legend Lee Corso. Attendees were able to choose from a number of different informational sessions in the afternoon to attend.
