People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: Aug. 17, 2018

Marsh has appointed Giampaolo Scarso to the newly created role of Client Advisory Services (CAS) Leader for its international division. He joined Marsh in 2007 and most recently served was CAS Leader for the Continental Europe/Middle East/Africa (CEMEA) and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) regions.

Ike Barbatsoulis has joined Everest Re Group Ltd. as chief reinsurance claims officer for its reinsurance division. He joins Everest from Chubb where he held senior positions across Chubb Global Claims, Chubb Services Corporation and Chubb Insurance.

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty has hired Scott Setzer as an executive underwriter for aviation, and Adam Johnson as an aviation underwriter, effective immediately. Most recently, Setzer was vice president with Berkley Aviation, while Johnson was a client support specialist for Transport Risk Management Inc. of Colorado.

Susan  Diffenderfer and Thomas Brennan have been hired as safety management consultants by workers’ compensation specialist The MEMIC Group.  Diffenderfer is a licensed physical therapist with nearly 30 years of experience in industrial health, geriatric care and wound care in a wide range of settings; Brennan has more than 20 years of occupational safety experience in the manufacturing and insurance industries.

Sedgwick has appointed Diego Ascani chief executive officer of Australian operations. Ascani joined Cunningham Lindsey (acquired by Sedgwick earlier this year) as COO and head of inTrust for Australia in 2017.

Kelly Radkowski has been appointed vice president – regional agency sales manager for Cannasure Insurance Services, a managing general agency and wholesale broker for the cannabis industry. She most recently served as vice president commercial binding authority at RT Specialty.

Zurich North America has named Eric Cittadino strategic business unit leader for diversified programs, specialty auto and aftermarket within the programs unit of alternative markets. Cittadino is currently the chief of staff for alternative markets and his new role will become effective September 1.

Marcus Pollak has been appointed to the newly created role of head of product center for AXIS Re. He joins AXIS Re from Partner Re where he spent 17 years and was most recently head of analysis and reporting.

Slice Labs Inc. has hired Philipe Lafreniere as chief growth officer. Before joining Slice, he served as senior vice president of product marketing at EIS Group where he was responsible for helping insurers transform into digital enterprises.

Tom McArdle has joined Argo Pro as Midwest region senior vice president. McArdle comes to Argo Pro from Everest Insurance where he served as Midwest regional vice president for management and professional liability.

Helmsman Management Services, Liberty Mutual’s wholly-owned third-party administrator, has appointed Karen Reading vice president and managing director. Before joining Liberty Mutual, Reading was a senior vice president for Marsh & McLennan.
