News from Nationwide, Hanover Stone Partners, Holmes Murphy and more.
Nationwide has announced that Jim Fowler will join the company as chief information officer. He most recently served as chief information officer for General Electric.
Ellen Shew Holland has been appointed practice leader of Hanover Stone Partners‘ recently established national higher education practice. Holland, a prominent university risk management professional, previously served as associated vice president and chief risk officer for Southern Methodist University, a position she held since 2014.
Additionally, Hanover appointed Joanne Morrissey, Edward “Ned” K. Loughridge and Gary Dubois as senior advisors.
Holmes Murphy announced that John Hurley II has been named president of property Casualty Brokerage Services. He was formerly the senior vice president of property casualty.
Scott Burns has been appointed vice president, professional lines for XS Brokers, an independent insurance underwriting and wholesale brokerage group. His previous experience included brokering insurance operations including large and hard to place insurance risks.
Alexander & Schmidt has announced the following additions to its executive leadership team:
- John Natale - executive vice president–business development
- David St. Pierre - executive vice president–operations
Lauren Walls has been appointed account executive practice leader for Aon plc in its Atlanta office. Most recently, Walls served s senior account executive at USI Insurance Services.
American International Group Inc. (AIG) has appointed Jamie Miller North America property chief underwriting officer, general insurance. Miller joins AIG from Swiss Re where he was managing director, North America property and risk specialty lines since 2007.
Travis Johnson has been appointed insurance broker for Thomas Insurance Advisors. Prior to joining the company, he worked as a field sales agent at the AAA Missouri.
Pioneer Programs Insurance Solutions LLC, an insurance program administrator, has hired Mary Wiseley as president of Pioneer’s specialty contractors division based in San Diego. Before joining Pioneer Programs, she was working as senior vice president for New York City-based Pioneer Underwriters, which is not affiliated with Pioneer Programs.
Paul Lewis has been appointed North America commercial insurance industry practice leader for Chubb‘s North American mid-market segment. Prior to his current position, he served as Chubb commercial insurance’s chief underwriting officer.
Distinguished Partners, a national insurance program manager, has announced the following appointments:
- Maryann Prestia - vice president program manager, primary programs
- Mary Genevich - senior underwriter, property and liability specialist
AmWINS Brokerage of Georgia has added Alex Furlong, an energy and environmental specialist, to its casualty team. Before joining AmWINS, Furlong spent several years as a casualty producer at All Risks Ltd.
Michael Denton has been named senior director of brokerage property for excess & surplus/specialty at Nationwide. He began his career at Hartford Insurance Group and most recently held the title of executive managing director of property for IFG Companies.
Blackstone has announced two new senior hires in the firm’s Blackstone Insurance Solutions Group:
- Erich Schram - senior managing director, head of credit origination and trading
- Kevin Relihan - managing director, head of relationship management
John Check has joined EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants as a senior consultant in the firm’s employee benefits consulting division. Prior to joining EPIC, Check spent 25 years with Pittsburgh’s Seubert Associates where he most recently served as vice president and executive director, benefits.
Duck Creek Technologies has appointed Bart Patrick managing director for the European market. He most recently served as director, insurance EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) at SAP.
Terry Forde has been appointed national sales executive at ConventBridge Group Ltd., a global investigative services agency. Forde joins with 28 years of combined management, sales and claims experience
Navigators has announced the following promotions:
- Joe Savarese - president, U.S. specialty primary casualty
- William Vaughn - chief underwriting officer of the U.S. specialty primary casualty division
