People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: June 8, 2018

Shiv Kumar has been appointed president and global leader of GC Securities, Capital Markets. Kumar was previously global head of insurance structured finance at Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Assured Risk Cover, a leading provider of StormPeace residential parametric insurance, announced that former Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty has joined its board of advisors. McCarty served as Florida’s first appointed insurance commissioner from 2003 to 2016 and president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners in 2012.

Monica Ningen has been appointed president and CEO of Swiss Re Canada & English Caribbean. She joined Swiss Re in 2006 and most recently as head of property underwriting U.S. & Canada.

The Hanover Insurance Group has appointed Frank M. Baron president of Alternative Markets, a newly formed business unit within the company’s domestic specialty group. Most recently, he served as executive vice president at Zurich where he headed the company’s Management Solutions Group.

Gilbert Chahine has been appointed CEO of AXA Partners, an entity of the AXA Group Innovation Business Unit. Prior to his appointment, Chahine was CEO of AXA Egypt.

EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants have announced the following appointments:

• Rose Nordbrock - principal and practice group leader
• Jeff Breskin – vice president in his specialty of workers’ compensation
• Pabla Barros – vice president and account executive
• Jose Fuentes – senior account manager

EPIC’s parent company, EPIC Holdings Inc., has appointed Janine Walter chief talent officer and a member of the EPIC executive committee. Walter previously served as senior vice president, director of human resources at OdysseyRe in Stamford, Conn.

Lynn Bertram has been promoted to senior underwriter & manager of commercial lines operations for Monarch E&S Insurance Services, a wholesale insurance brokerage and managing general agent. Bertram has worked with Monarch E&S for 15 years and has been underwriting new business for the past seven.

Venture Programs has appointed Sarah Singleton underwriter for FITLIFE, Venture’s insurance program for fitness, wellness and spa facilities. Singleton joins Venture from Great American Insurance Group where she was an associate underwriter.

Todd Woodward has joined the Gallagher organization as its new head of global communications. Prior to joining Gallagher, Woodward was vice president, corporate and branding marketing communication at Amway Global.

POWERS Insurance and Risk Management has hired Jacki Malone as a commercial lines account manager. She previously worked on the personal lines side of the industry prior to joining POWERS.

Christine M. Tricoli has been appointed vice president, human resources for H.W. Kaufman Group. Tricoli joins Kaufman from CIT Group, a financial services company.

USI Insurance Services has named Danette Beck national construction practice leader. Beck comes to USI from Marsh where she was the west zone construction practice leader for the past seven years.
