Munich Reinsurance America Inc. has unveiled its Smart Mobility Program to address issues surrounding commercial auto losses and to help reduce or avoid the risk of collision for commercial fleets. Smart Mobility includes LossDetect, an automated text-mining tool that analyzes automotive claims data and recommends potential solutions.

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has partnered with Israel-based drone safety systems company ParaZero. The partnership is scheduled for initial rollout in the U.S. followed by other regions where AGCS insurances unmanned aircraft.

The Travelers Institute, the public policy division of The Travelers Companies Inc., co-hosted a symposium with the Harvard T.H. Liberty Mutual has introduced new commercial products to its Umbrella and Contractor’s Equipment coverage which require fewer endorsements. The new umbrella features include:

 Trōv’s On-Demand Insurance has gained its 41st state approval from New York, bringing the company closer to a full launch in the U.S. The company recently opened its second U.S. office in New York City.

Specialist insurer Beazley has launched Beazley Weather Guard, a digital insurance policy that protects event organizers against the effects of severe weather that may cause the cancellation of an outdoor event. It can also be used by retailers to insure weather-related sales promotions, linking a sales refund to an unusual weather event.

Celent has announced the recipients of the 2018 Model Insurer Awards. Celent’s annual Model Insurer Awards recognizes the effective use of technology by insurers through their implementation of IT programs that epitomize best practices for technology projects.
