"These scholarship recipients represent the future of our industry and, based on their collective credentials, our industry will be in very good hands," said Tim Meacham, Spencer's Scholarship Committee Chairman COO of Lockton Benefits Companies, in a statement.

The Spencer Educational Foundation named 70 full-time undergraduate, graduate and Pre-dissertation Ph.D. students as its 2018 Spencer Scholars. The students, selected and screened from a pool of more than 730 applicants, represent 28 schools.

Undergraduate scholarships awarded students $5,000 each, while master's and pre-Ph.D. dissertation scholars received $10,000 each. A total of $390,000 was given out. These awards bring the number of scholarships awarded by the non-profit to 1,051.
