There are many issues affecting the insurance industry today, but many in particular are especially pertinent to women. From sexual harassment in the workplace to greater leadership diversification, the insurance industry has a number of challenges lying ahead.

But these challenges are necessary for the industry's growth. Women have improved the world in countless ways, and it's important to recognize where change is needed.

March is Women's History Month, and this year's theme is ”Nevertheless She Persisted.” Before March comes to a close, let's acknowledge the 13 women who currently run state insurance departments across the U.S. Their backgrounds and experiences are varied, but they all bring a strong commitment to regulating the insurance industry in their jurisdictions to protect their consumers.
