AIG has appointed Chris Townsend CEO, International General Insurance. He previously served as president of MetLife's Asia region, with responsibility for all businesses and operations across 11 markets in Asia, and as a member of the company's Executive Group.
Kimberly Vincent has been promoted to senior account manager at New Day Underwriting Managers LLC. Prior to New Day, Vincent worked with BCG Advisors, Westrope Insurance Managers and others.
JLT Specialty USA, a U.S. subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc, has appointed Dan Phebus senior vice president, and head of mining for the Americas. Phebus joins JLT from Newmont Mining where he served as senior director of global risk management.
JLT Specialty USA also appointed James Vendetti director. Based in New York, Vendetti brings over 11 years of experience in construction risk management to JLT's Construction practice and most recently served as SVP for Starr Companies.
John Degnan has been appointed the American Insurance Association's new president and CEO. Degnan, a former New Jersey Attorney General, most recently served as the chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
AIG announced the following appointments:

- George Stratts - CEO of Lexington Insurance Company
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has appointed Gary D. Anderson to Commissioner of the Division of Insurance, a regulatory agency under the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. Anderson joined the Division in 2014 as First Deputy Commissioner and has served as the Acting Commissioner since Feb. 2017.
Qatar Reinsurance Company Limited has appointed Manik Sethi chief executive of its Singapore branch, effective Nov. 13. Sethi joined Qatar Re in May 2016, initially as regional head of facultative marine and later ats the team's global head.
Glenn R. Landau, senior vice president and CFO of International Paper (IP), has been elected to the board of directors of FM Global. He joined IP in 1991 and has since served in a variety of leadership positions.
Liberty Specialty Markets, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has appointed Bruce J. Love director of assumed reinsurance in its Casualty Treaty department. Joining from Munich Re, where he held the role of vice president for two years, Love began his insurance career in 1989 with National Re.
Kevin Brown has joined NFP as a managing director working out of NFP's national distribution resources platform in Austin, Texas. Prior to joining NFP, Brown was most recently a market president and statewide employee benefits practice leader at Frost Insurance.
EMC Insurance Group Inc. has announced the following appointments:
- Mick A. Lovell - executive vice president of operations, effective Jan. 2, 2018
- Scott R. Jean - executive vice president of finance and strategy, effective Jan. 2, 2018
Goji, a technology-enabled personal lines insurance distribution platform, has named Peter Breitstone CEO. Breitstone was a former senior executive at Insureon, Aon and Zurich.
David Putz has been appointed to lead Zurich North America's Alternative Markets, effective Jan. 1, 2018. Putz is head of direct markets & programs for Zurich North America and will assume the role currently held by Kathleen Savio, who will transition to Zurich North America CEO at that same time.
Aon has appointed Jim Gloriod CEO of its U.S. Construction Services Group. Over the course of 20 years with Aon, he has held various leadership roles, including his promotion to president of the U.S. Construction Services Group last September.
Maryalice Nazaretian has been named president of the employee benefits group at SterlingRisk Insurance. Nazaretian, who joined SterlingRisk in 1996, most recently served as managing director of employee benefits.
Stephens Insurance LLC, an affiliate of Stephens Inc., has hired Leigh Ellis and Will Ogilvie. Ellis joins Stephens as a senior vice president in the commercial property & casualty practice, and Ogilvie will serve as vice president of the life & health benefits practices of Stephens Insurance in Houston.
Carol Blair has joined CRC Group as a professional lines broker for the New York office, effective Oct. 19, 2017. Blair brings over 16 years of experience in brokerage to CRC in professional risks in surplus lines.
