EFI Global has appointed Ron Maggard vice president and director of operations. Maggard is an experienced senior corporate leader with more than 30 years in forensic services and will be based in Tampa.

Karen Isaacs has been appointed vice president, human resources for JLT Specialty USA, a U.S. subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thomspon Grou plc. Previously, Isaacs worked as SVP of HR at Hamilton Insurance Group.

AXIS Capital Holdings Limited has appointed Steve Arora CEO of AXIS Re. Arora joins the company from Swiss Re where he spent 17 years in a variety of senior positions, most recently as head of casualty reinsurance and as a member of the reinsurance executive committee.

Courtney Mocio has been appointed vice president, cyber & technology at Brit Global Specialty USA. She joins BGSU from Nationwide Insurance Company (Freedom Specialty) where she spent the last five years writing a book of cyber, technology and professional business.

The Hartford has announced the following appointments to its board of directors, effective December 20, 2017:

  • Greig Woodring - served as president and CEO of Reinsurance Group of America Incorporated from 1993 until his retirement in Dec. 2016
  • Steve McGill - retired in Jan. 2017 as group president of Aon Plc and chairman and CEO of the Risk Solutions business segment, which was comprised of Aon Risk Solutions and Aon Benfield.

Kristin D. McMahon has been named Ironshore Inc.'s head of U.S. claims, effective immediately. Prior to the appointment, McMahon served as chief claims officer of IronHealth, the specialty healthcare unit, and more recently assumed underwriting oversight as president of IronHealth's liability and regulatory lines.

Western Growers has appointed Drew Triplett vice president of operations for the Insurance Services team. He most recently served as COO and acting CFO at PPGWNI Health Clinics.

Jack Groseclose has been hired by Assurance and will serve as an employee benefits advisor, focusing on providing employee benefit solutions to the construction and technology industries, as well as government contractors. In his new role, Groseclose will help clients stay compliant while structuring benefit plans and alternative funding arrangements.

Clearsurance has announced the addition of Tim Anderson to its board of directors. Anderson brings nearly a decade of experience from his various product management positions at Glassdoor and currently holds the position of chief growth officer at Zapier, a service that connects applications and automates workflow.

Justin Schmidt has been appointed to Paragon Insurance Holdings LLC's team as program underwriter. Schmidt previously served as director of underwriting for Capital Risk Underwriters Inc.

QBE North America, an operating division of QBE Group, has announced that Matt Keeping has joined the organization as regional executive - Eastern region. Prior to QBE, Keeping served as head of broking for Willis Towers Watson.

Michigan-based 1-800 WATER DAMAGE has announced the following appointments:

  • Mark Hargett - national accounts manager
  • Steven Olson - senior national franchise recruiter

Alera Group, a national employee benefits, property & casualty, risk management and wealth management firm, has appointed Bill Doucette vice president of Human Resources and Organization Development. Previously the vice president of human resources at NES Rental Holdings, Doucette has more than 30 years of experience in the field of human resources.

William (Bill) Curcio has joined AIG as Chairman of AIG Risk Management. Most recently, Curcio served as Chairman and President of ACE Risk Management with responsibility for National Accounts Casualty, including excess workers' compensation and large account construction and wrap-ups.

XL Group Ltd has appointed James E. Nevels to the company's board of directors. Nevels currently serves on the boards of First Data and Alcoa Corporation, and as Lead Independent Director of WestRock.

Dr. Adam Seidner has been appointed chief medical officer for The Hartford. Previously, Seidner was global medical director for Travelers Insurance where he was responsible for medical policy development, quality assurance and improvement and worksite health promotion.

Iron-Excess, the excess underwriting unit of Ironshore Insurance Services LLC formed in Sept. 2017, has announced the following appointments:

  • Sonny Powers - to lead the Iron-Excess Casualty unit in the U.S.
  • Owen Roddy - to drive business growth for the Iron-Excess Casualty unit in the London market
  • Oliver Ross - to drive business growth for the Iron-Excess Casualty unit in the London market
