National Underwriter Property & Casualty and PropertyCasualty360’s new, annual awards program created to honor the very best in U.S. independent agencies is in full swing.
NU’s October issue will feature National Underwriter’s Agency of the Year Awards, in which we will honor agencies representing four revenue categories (four winners in all), allowing for a representative cross-section of agencies across the U.S.
These will include “small” agencies ($4–$5 million in premium); mid-size agencies ($5–$15 million in premium); “large” agencies ($15–$20 million); and “extra large” agencies ($20 million or more).
However, premium volume, while effective in helping us sort out agencies by size, hardly tells the whole story. There are a variety of factors that will be considered in determining which entrants will be judged “best in class.”
|No fee for entering
There is no fee for entering, and the entry form asks only for you to tell us exactly why your agency is exceptional.
The criteria on which entrants will be judged are simple: We’re looking for success stories illustrating how an agency best serves its clients, illustrating strength and variety of business; carrier relationships; claims processing; client satisfaction; social responsibility; adoption of new technology to accelerate processes; and customer service, among other things.
- Has your agency implemented new tech processes that had a direct impact on business?
- Can you offer several examples of exceptional client service and/or relationships?
- What’s your long-term growth strategy?
- What marketing efforts have proven especially beneficial for you?
- Can you provide examples of community outreach/philanthropic work?
A sense of your agency’s overall income is also welcome in your entry, from that derived from lines of business to fee income, interest income, contingency/profit sharing income and more, as well as such additional factors as year-over-year percentage of growth. Any information you could provide along those lines can be included.
All proprietary information will be kept confidential, and is being collected for judging purposes only.
Endorsements and testimonials are likewise welcome (as attachments), as are any other supporting materials you feel would best help illustrate why your agency is worthy of recognition.
|Feature profiles
The stories of these successful agencies will be shared in four separate feature profiles in our October print edition and on PropertyCasualty360.com.
The judges will include our editorial staff; members of NU’s Editorial Advisory Board; and representatives from industry-professional organizations such as the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA), among others.
If your agency has a great story to tell, we want you to enter our competition. Go online and enter today, and tell your story in 2,000 words or fewer; the deadline is Aug. 28; that deadline will not be extended.
We look forward to seeing your entries, and sharing your story with us. Enter now!
