With the arrival of warmer weather, motorcycles are hitting the road in greater numbers and sharing the road with other motorists. 

There were 8.6 million motorcycles on the road in 2015, according to the Insurance Information Institute.

Motorcycles made up 3% of all registered vehicle in the United States in 2015, and accounted for 0.6% of all miles traveled, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
