Independent agents all have their favorite carriers with which to do business, but that can vary depending on which line of P&C cover is required. But what are their favorite carriers with which to do business in a variety of markets, from Business Interruption to Cyber, from GL and E&O to Property? Surety Bonds? Umbrella? Workers' Comp?
In one of the most comprehensive studies of independent agents in the U.S. ever completed, NU, the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) and Flaspöhler, part of NMG Consulting, joined forces to conduct the 2017 Independent Agent Survey — a project whose findings provide revealing insight into the demographics, books of business and industry challenges of independent Property & Casualty insurance agents, as well as their most highly rated carriers.
The top carriers in each of the aformentioned lines and some others, as voted by our survey respondents, are presented below.
Today we also reveal which carriers received the highest rating by independent agents in several key factors that are important to them, including an attractive compensation program; responsive service; superior risk management and loss-control programs; and superior products and coverages.
