The Philadelphia chapter of The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF)'s Northeast Division today announced its inaugural fundraising event will be held on March 30 at Fado Irish Pub on Locust Street. The event will feature an evening of networking and friendly trivia competition from 6 to 9 p.m.

Individual tickets are $40 and proceeds from the event will go to benefit Cradles to Crayons, a Philadelphia charity which collects and distributes new and gently used childhood essentials such as clothing, baby safety equipment, toys, books and school supplies for children up to age 12 who are living in homeless or low-income situations.

“The mission of IICF Philadelphia is a simple but important one,” said Bernd G. Heinze, Esq., IICF Philadelphia board chair and president of King of Prussia-based Accolade Management. “Our members rely on their collective resources and networks to give back to the greater Philadelphia area. Whether through fundraisers, providing grants or volunteering to plant community gardens, our efforts are designed to have a direct and measurable impact on the lives of people living in the Philadelphia region.”

Like the IICF Northeast Division of which it is a part, the IICF Philadelphia Chapter’s mission focuses on at-risk children, education, the environment and disaster preparedness.

“Future fundraising and volunteer events are being planned, and each will focus on area charities, keeping both the money and the efforts within the community,” said Betsy Myatt, executive director of IICF's Northeast Division.

The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) is a unique nonprofit that unites the collective strengths of the insurance industry to help communities and enrich lives through grants, volunteer service and leadership. With more than 30 boards in the U.S. and UK, IICF brings together insurance industry professionals to give back to their local communities.
