Dublin-based insurance and reinsurance giant XL Catlin said it has promoted James Barbuti to lead its multinational casualty insurance segment. He previously served as senior vice president, zonal manager for XL Catlin’s risk management business.

XL Catlin also said it has appointed Vincent Branch chief executive for Accelerate, its team focused on innovation and insurtech. He joins from Vitality UK, where he served as chief underwriting officer and chief actuary.

London-based Willis Re said it has promoted James Kent to global deputy CEO, effective immediately. He previously served as co-president of Willis Re and president of Willis Re North America.

Farmington Hills, Michigan-based specialty insurer H.W. Kaufman Financial Group and Burns & Wilcox said it has promoted to Michael S. Paulin to chief information officer. He continues to serve as corporate vice president.

H.W. Kaufman Financial Group and Burns & Wilcox also said it has promoted the following to corporate vice president for their respective departments:

  • Laura Bates, special risk division.
  • Emmanuel Manuelidis, claims and litigation.
  • Richard Shipley, marketing.

Jersey City, New Jersey-based risk management services firm Hanover Stone Partners said it has appointed Ted Dann and Paul Petrylak national practice leaders and senior risk advisors. Dann joins from Jones Lang LaSalle where he served as dedicated risk manager. Petrlak joins from CIT Insurance Services, where he served as president.

The Los Angeles-based Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation said it has appointed Anne Cossentine director of finance. She joins from Dutton Plumbing, where she served as controller.

Columbia, South Carolina-based insurance software company Duck Creek Technologies said it has appointed Eugene Van Biert chief revenue officer. He joins from Skillsoft, where he served as vice president and general manager, compliance solutions.

Bloomington, Illinois-based actuarial and management consulting firm Pinnacle Actuarial Resources Inc. said it has appointed Terrence D. Wright a consulting actuary at its Atlanta office. He joins from CNA Insurance, where he served as actuarial senior consultant.

Dayton, Ohio-based insurance provider and program administrator Norman-Spencer Agency Inc. said it has appointed Mark Aussicker chief claims officer and director of watercraft operations and distribution. He joins from York Risk Services Group, where he served as president of carrier direct markets.

Walnut Creek, California-based CSAA Insurance Group said it has promoted Jeff Huebner chief risk officer. He previously served as vice president of treasury.
