What an incredible year this has been. For National Underwriter Property & Casualty, one might say that 2015 has been the year of relationships.

We've forged new professional alliances, renewed others of already outstanding value, and have made a lot of new friends along the journey.

Those relationships have yielded more amazing new content that we continue to share in the pages of NU and on PropertyCasualty360.com, where throughout this year we've continued to score record-high web traffic numbers. But that's not enough for me or you, and in 2016, we'll be delivering you even more.

My team's mission is to bring you the most informative, well-presented news and features on the Property & Casualty industry possible — the kind our readers deserve and have come to expect. And as the way in which people consume information these days gets ever more personalized, especially online, we want to enhance that experience as much as possible in order to give you more of the content that you want, and less of what you don't.

Quick backstory: Earlier this year, NU was acquired by ALM, a company I've personally always associated with journalistic excellence. Since 2003 I've attended the Jesse H. Neal Awards (basically, the Pulitzer Prizes of trade journalism), and almost every single year, more than one of ALM's properties brought home the gold. I was happy to become part of the ALM family, and as we enter the new year, all of its brands are investing in new digital tools that will enable us to better serve up the stories that appeal to you the most. This includes, among other things, upgrading our e-newsletters with more targeted content to serve you better.

Digital access

In order for us to do this, I'd love for you to become part of the process — and the benefits are substantial. On PropertyCasualty360.com, soon you'll be greeted with a one-time "welcome wall" that will invite you to become a member of our "digital membership" program. Which, by the way, is free.

What's in it for you? A lot, actually.

The digital sign-up asks for your name, title, e-mail address, ZIP code and company name. That's it. In exchange, you're granted complimentary access to content across ALM's publications, including National Underwriter Life & Health, Investment Advisor, Benefits Selling, ProducersWEB.com, Real Estate Forum and all of ALM's award-winning law titles, among them The National Law Journal. It's also an e-ticket to an additional five free pieces of paid content per month from our fellow award-winning publications.

Insurance content, finance, consulting, real estate, and legal — all of it, right at your fingertips, whenever you wish. What's more, you can manage your own personalized e-newsletters across all of this content, exactly to your preference. There are other benefits as well, including discounts to ALM publications and events.

The other advantage of becoming a digital member is that it enables us to serve up ads that are more relevant to you. The days of advertising not targeted to your own personal preference will soon pass, replaced with a smarter, more informed experience that speaks to you, personally, as best we can.

A better experience for you

What does that mean? It means less clutter, less noise and more relevancy in your time spent with us. All of what you want, none of what you don't, and a reader experience that's as customized as a well-crafted insurance policy.

I welcome your feedback on this. Ours is a dialogue that I take seriously, and will always be a two-way conversation.

With that, I'd like to thank each and every one of you for continuing to support our coverage of this great industry, the forces that continue to shape its evolution and the many colorful human stories it presents. At the end of the day, when we're doing our job, our readers come away feeling more informed, enriched and up to speed—and we will continue to provide that to you in 2016 and beyond.

You think you saw a lot from us this year? Trust me when I say you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Cheers, and Happy Holidays!
