San Diego, Calif.-based real estate errors and omissions and risk management company CRES Insurance Services and Baton Rouge, La.-based, Louisiana Realtors announced a partnership to provide comprehensive E&O insurance to Louisiana Realtors's more than 12,000 members.
Bangor, Maine-based independent insurance provider Cross Insurance, a subsidiary of Cross Financial Corp., announced the purchase of Boston-based, property and casualty retail insurance agency Knapp Schenck & Co. Under terms of the acquisition, Knapp, Schenck & Co. will retain its name and continue to operate with the same staff and leadership. Knapp Schenck will also continue to operate out of its Boston and Braintree offices.
Risk management company Lockton Brazil announced the acquisition of VIS Corretora de Seguros e Beneficios Ltda., a specialist insurance and employee benefits broker in Sao Paulo. The agreement is effective Jan. 1. By early January, VIS´staff is expected to be fully integrated into Lockton Brazil's new Sao Paulo offices.
Minneapolis-based, Insurance Marketing & Communications Association (IMCA) will hold the next edition of its Leadership Webcast Series on Tuesday, Jan. 19. The program, “Freelance Nation — Legal Considerations When Using Freelance Marketing and Communications Professionals,” will be presented by Sharon Toerek, principal at Toerek Law, a property law firm based in Cleveland. Interested participants can register at IMCA.
