Home insurance is a safety net for big disasters. From natural disasters and fires, to theft and liability protection, homeowners rely on their insurance policy to cover property damage, unexpected living expenses and payment of damages to others if someone is injured on their property. Given the amount and significance and of many home insurance claims, it's wise for consumers to scrutinize their home insurer as carefully as possible. Insure.com recently surveyed current customers of 15 large home insurers to find out how they rate their insurers on customer service and handling claims, as well as whether they would recommend their homeowner insurance company to a friend and whether they plan to renew their current policy.
