Russell M. Johnston, National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) board chair and AIG executive, announced that the Board has elected William (Bill) E. Donnell president and chief executive officer, effective Dec. 7, 2015.
He will succeed current President and CEO Stephen J. Klingel, who is retiring in February in order to will provide a smooth transition.
Donnell is currently the president of Swiss Re America Holding Corp.'s U.S. Property and Casualty Reinsurance division. He has served in various leadership positions at Swiss Re, GE Insurance Solutions, Universal Underwriters and Crum & Forster Holdings Corp.
Donnell received a bachelor's degree in management and labor relations from Colorado State University. He also earned CPCU and ARM designations, and has received executive training from Swiss Re, GE, Kellogg School of Management and AMA.
