Grange Insurance announced the promotion of Theresa Mason to president of Grange Life Insurance Co. Mason will be responsible for growing Grange Life’s business and leading the organization’s operations, including product development and marketing. Mason joined Grange Life as controller in 2006 and was promoted to the life company’s assistant vice president of finance in 2009. Prior to joining Grange Life, Mason was an auditor with Ernst & Young.

Marsh announced that David Marino has joined the company to lead its U.S. Construction Practice, which serves more than 1,200 clients and places nearly $1 billion in premiums annually. In his new role, Marino will be responsible for ensuring Marsh’s continued delivery of its risk advisory and transactional services to clients across the construction industry. Marino brings to Marsh more than 20 years of insurance and construction industry experience. He previously served as regional managing director of the greater New York area.

Crawford & Co. announced the stepping down of Jeffrey T. Bowman, who has served as president and CEO for almost eight years. Bowman served the company for more than 24 years. While Crawford & Co. conducts a search for a permanent CEO, the company's board appointed board member Harsha V. Agadi interim CEO.

CNA named Julie Stephenson senior vice president and chief underwriting officer for CNA Commercial. Based in Chicago, Stephenson will be responsible for underwriting oversight and governance for all products and lines of business written within commercial. Julie brings to Commercial 18 years of leadership and insurance experience, and most recently served as senior vice president and global liability manager for the Chubb Group of Insurance Cos.

Nikki Lankford has been appointed regional vice president for Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Metro New York region within the company’s Business Insurance operation. Based in New York City, Lankford will oversee growth of small to mid-market business there and on Long Island. Lankford will work with the company’s appointed independent agents and brokers, managing local underwriting operations and territory managers who provide a single point of access to a broad product line for businesses.

I-CAR, the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, announced the appointment of Nick Notte as director of finance and operations. Notte will lead the accounting and finance, data services, information technology, project management and lean process improvement teams. Nott recently served as chief operating officer of PDR International.

Liz Smith has been promoted to president at Assurance, in recognition of the momentum and growth within Assurance’s employee benefits division. In her new capacity, Liz will oversee the employee benefits division, while working alongside president Dan Klaras on organizational initiatives. Prior to joining Assurance, Smith served as senior vice president, practice leader of employee benefits for a national insurance brokerage.
