Geico announced it is expanding a new rideshare insurance product to drivers in Pennsylvania.
The product, which is already available in Georgia, Virigina, Maryland and Texas, will be available to new and existing drivers in Pennsylvania that have been approved to drive for companies like Uber, Lyft, Sidecar and more.
The new product replaces a driver's personal auto policy and provides coverage for both personal and ridesharing use. According to its website, the Geico product covers drivers during all stages of working for a Transportation Network Company (TNC), including the "gap" period between when a driver signs into the TNC app and is matched with a passenger. When drivers sign off the app, the same policiy still covers them.
