The Anita Borg Institute (ABI), a nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of women in technology, has released a report on the top companies in the world for female technologists. Making the list of 13 companies where women thrive is USAA, a provider of insurance to more than 10 million members. 

The ABI initiative focuses on identifying companies committed to the success of technical women at all career levels. Using a rigorous statistical method, they evaluated participating companies on their current representation, recruitment and promotion of women, as well as the year over year trends in these areas.

For this year's Top Companies for Women Technologists Leadership Index, the Anita Borg Institute evaluated 35 companies with a total technical workforce of over 435,000.
