(Bloomberg) -- American International Group Inc. hired Gaurav Garg from Marsh & McLennan Cos.’ Mercer unit as chief executive officer of its personal-insurance division.
Garg returns to the New York-based insurer, where he worked for 12 years before joining Mercer, AIG said Tuesday in a statement. He will report to Kevin Hogan, CEO of global consumer insurance, and oversee the auto, personal property and personal accident lines.
“Gaurav is an insurance veteran with proven leadership skills and a diverse global perspective,” Hogan said in the statement.
Garg was president of growth markets for Mercer in 22 countries including in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. He will be succeeded by David Anderson, according to a statement from Mercer on Tuesday.
