Private Risk Management Association (PRMA) named Lisa Lindsay to executive director, a new role created by the PRMA board of trustees. The role will focus on implementing PRMA's mission of “improving the advice, coverage and service provided to the high net worth insurance consumer through education and increased awareness.”

Glatfester Insurance Group promoted Edmund Williams to senior vice president program manager for VFIS, one of the largest insurance providers to emergency service organizations.

York Risk Services Group has hired Barry Haring as vice president of sales. The position will be responsible for driving current business and developing new relationships with prospective clients in the Northeast region.

Victor O. Schinnerer & Co. announced Jill Tellez as senior vice president and professional liability leader. She will be in charge of oversight for the company's professional liability programs. Schinnerer & Co. also promoted longtime architects and engineers leader Kevin Collins to senior vice president of professional liability.

InVEST announced at the beginning of the month the appointment of David Hale to their national board. Hale is president of Hale & Associates, Inc., an independent insurance agency in Alaska.

Lockton's St. Louis office promoted Jim Linden as assistant vice president and senior claims consultant this month. The position will guide clients of Lockton in developing claims management programs, hoping to eventually drive down costs of total risk.

Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) re-elected Scott Beckman as its chair of the board of directors this week. The board also elected Michael Bemi as vice chair with Fredrik Finnman, Steven M. McElhiney and Robert Myers also elected onto the board.

NEW PROGRAMS

The Norman-Spencer Agency, Inc. an Ohio-based P&C insurer, announced last week the launch of their TradeWinds Yacht Insurance Program. The program will provide insurance policies and underwriting guidelines for yachts up to $2 million, including high limits for standard coverage.

York Public Entity, a part of the York Risk Services Group, received the highest ranking of all third-party administrators in the 2013 Profile Audit Review released by the California Division of Workers' Compensation.

M&A

Iowa-based Holmes Murphy & Association acquired Willis of Minnestota, Inc. this month. The transaction includes giving insurance services to student-lead organizations, primarily Greek letter organizations.
