Philadelphia Insurance Co. announced Tuesday that Bob Morgan and Seth Hall, two former vice presidents, have been promoted to senior vice president of underwriting and customer service, respectively.
Crawford & Company, based out of Atlanta, Ga., has appointed Vince Cole, former executive vice president of global strategy and business performance, to executive vice president and CEO of the company. Before working for Crawford, Cole had been CEO of a medical device company in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Non-profit insurance education leader, inVEST, announced that Cynthia Hower, president of Kellerman Insurance based out of Holton, Kan., would be named to the company's national board. Hower has more than 30 years' experience in the insurance industry, dating back to 1981 when she started working with her father in the family insurance business.
New Programs
On Monday, ACE Group introduced three new transactional risk insurance products that protect companies during mergers and acquisitions both nationally and in the international marketplace. Current Vice President of Transactional Risk Edward Markovitch will lead the initiative.

Seventy-six companies, including almost a third of them being insurance companies, might expect to see a fee based on the amount of liabilities they have on their balance sheets. This is all due to President Barack Obama's newest tax proposal, according to SNL Financial, that released a study showing off all the different financial institutions that could be affected by the latest budget proposal released on Monday.
M&A
United Insurance Holdings Corp. (UPC) completed their acquisition of Family Security Holdings, LLC (FSH) yesterday, including all of FSH's subsidiaries. The merger cost UPC $9 million and issued over half a million shares of their stock. FSH also owned a property casualty company based out of Hawaii and an underwriting company that performed administrative and marketing services for the company.
