The Blizzard of 2015 may have been a bust in New York City, but that doesn't mean it fell flat everywhere. New England was hit with the forecasted historic snow totals, and coastal areas dealt with a storm surge that brought icy waters into many homes.
In the town of Marshfield, part of a seawall was badly damaged by the surge, causing structural damage to several homes, including that of U.S. Army soldier Jennifer Bruno in the main image to the left. On Massachusetts' South Shore, the Brant Rock Esplanade was flooded with ocean water, damaging homes and businesses, and in Scituate, icy seawater flooded the streets and homes (see pictures below).
Farther from the shore, feet of snow fell over much of the area. Massachusetts saw the heaviest snowfall, with the towns of Lunenburg and Auburn recording the most snow with 36 inches, according the The Weather Channel. Worchester, Mass. recorded its all-time heaviest snowstorm with 34.5 inches, and Boston's Logan International Airport recorded 24.6 inches, its sixth heaviest snowstorm.
