Greenberg Traurig's Insurance Regulatory & Transactions Practice Group announced the addition of attorney Fred E. Karlinsky as co-chair of the practice. Karlinsky will play a pivotal role in the expansion of the firm's capabilities in the area.
Engle Martin & Assocs. announced the additions of John Ketch as senior vice president of business development and Bentley Laytin as senior vice president, Western Region Field Operations. The company also announced the promotion of Richard Funnell to senior vice president of business development. Funnell has been with Engle Martin for more than 10 years.
Employers Holdings Inc. appointed Terry Eleftheriou as its exectuive vice president, chief financial officer. Eleftheriou will also be responsible for the company's financial reporting, treasury, corporate planning, investor relations and internal audit departments.
Amy Frederick was promoted to vice president and chief information officer at the Main Street America Group. Frederick will become a member of the super-regional property/casualty insurance carrier's senior management team, and will report to chairman and CEO TOm Van Berkel.
New Programs
K&K Insurance Group Inc. launched a program offering accidental death and disability coverage for firefighters. The program provides several options, including policies that can be written for an entire state or on a per-firehouse basis, and coverage for full-time firefighters or volunteers.
Mergers & Acquisitions
Ryan Specialty Group's wholesale brokerage, R-T Specialty acquired the assets of excess and surplus broker, Tennessee Underwriters Inc.
USI Insurance Services acquired seven retail insurance brokerage locations from Willis North America Inc. The acquisition further strengthens USI's presence as one of the leading middle market insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the country.
JLT Specialty Insurance Services Inc. purchased a portion of the energy business of Alliant Insurance Services Inc.
AssuredPartners Inc., through its subsidiary Assured Neace Lukens, acquired Premiere Coastal Insurance Group LLC & Premiere Coastal Insurance Goup Inc. These operations are based in Bluffton, S.C. and St. Simons Island, Ga.
