Forrester Research has released its 2014 U.S. Mobile Auto Insurance Benchmark, ranking the top nine U.S. private auto insurers' mobile apps for consumers. Each app was scored on a scale from 1 to 100, with the average score falling at 69 out of 100.
The scores were based on each app's functionality when used to research and request auto insurance quotes; log into an existing account to check a bill, make a one-time payment and set up recurring payments; file a claim and manage a simple claim; request roadside assistance; and find a local agent and body shop for repair.
Geico was ranked the top auto insurance mobile app with a score of 90 out of 100. According to Forrester, Geico's app stood out in all categories tested and achieved perfect scores in three of the categories: range of touchpoints, quotations, and policy information and management.
