Dr. Robert P. Hartwig, economist and president of the Insurance Information Institute (III) was named to the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) National Board of Governors.
“The I.I.I. has been a longtime supporter of the IICF, and we are thrilled to have Dr. Hartwig’s representation on the National Board of Governors,” said Bill Ross, CEO of the IICF. “His deep ties within the industry and wide-reaching knowledge of the insurance landscape will bring invaluable guidance to the IICF, as well as our community and industry initiatives.
Dr. Hartwig joined the III in 1998, and has since focused his work on improving and understanding the key insurance issues across all industry stakeholders.
Prior to his current role, Hartwig previously served as the organization’s chief economist, and before joining the III, Dr. Hartwig worked as the director of economic research at the National Council on Compensation Insurance, and as a senior economist at Swiss Reinsurance Group. He is also a member of the American Economic Assn., the American Risk and Insurance Assn., the National Assn. of Business Economics and the CPCU society.
The National Board of Governors for IICF is responsible for managing the organization’s national endowment fund, as well as establishing strategic plans throughout the IICF’s national and regional footprints. Twenty senior leaders from across the industry comprise the board, which is chaired by Gary Petrosino of Chubb & Son.
