Last Tuesday, Apple CEO Tim Cook introduced the world to the long-awaited Apple Watch, marking the one-time computer company's move into wearable technologies. It's a sleek device -- essentially an iPhone that the user can wear on their wrist -- that incorporates many of the same app-powered functions that have made Apple products a daily habit for millions (if not billions) of customers around the world.

It's pretty, but will it really shake the world like the original Mac and iPhone did? Maybe, maybe not. But in today's marketplace, there is something to be said for design that communicates well and translates seamlessly across a range of technologies. What's more, well-designed products make our lives easier, more efficient and more fun.

With this in mind, today PropertyCasualty360.com launches a redesign that solidifies its place as the most accessible, intuitive and comprehensive website in the P&C industry. Further, with this redesign we're adding a number of new features to the site that we think you'll notice right away, like native mobile and tablet support, searchable in-depth archives and even new education content from Summit's Professional Publishing Division.

Our goal is to help you, the reader, stay informed about the industry and do your job better on a daily basis. We think this new and improved site accomplishes that goal, and we asked our editors to outline some of the very best new features on the following pages.

Check them out; let us know what you like and don't like. This is your site — drop us a line or let us know what you think in the comments.

1. Enjoy content that's optimized for mobile and tablet, as well as desktop readers.

“I am delighted with the new design for PropertyCasualty360. Among its many improvements, the site is now optimized to provide the same great experience across all platforms, so whether you’re reading on your desktop, tablet or phone, the way in which you read our great content won’t get in the way of the content itself. It will be easier than ever to engage our content socially, search for stories and tap into the wealth of knowledge PropertyCasualty360 brings to insurance professionals across the board.”

— Bill Coffin, Group Editorial Director, Insurance Group

2. Read articles in the format you want.

“Our readers need the latest news as soon as it happens, and now they can have it in an easy-to-read, multi-page format or a single page that can be quickly scanned for important details. The new design is clean and easy to navigate, so you can quickly find the news that impacts you and your clients. No site covers the business of insurance more thoroughly than PropertyCasualty360.com.”

— Patricia Harman, Editor-in-Chief, Claims magazine

3. Access exclusive content from industry experts designed to help grow your practice at every stage.

“The redesigned PropertyCasualty360.com reinforces our commitment to provide agents, risk managers, underwriters and other industry personnel with the education they need to maintain their positions as trusted advisors. We have partnered with Summit’s Professional Publishing Division to offer a library of articles from industry experts on workers’ comp, cyber risk, agency management, producer training and other pressing topics. This comprehensive resource delivers education and insights quickly and free of charge—along with an exclusive offer to buy the full books at a discounted price."

— Melissa Hillebrand, Technology Channel Editor, PropertCasualty360.com

4. Quickly find content on the products and issues that are important to your practice.

“Agents in the field with their customers need info at their fingertips. The new site lets you search our years of in-depth content on your desktop, smartphone or tablet. Talk about a competitive edge!”

— Laura Toops, Executive Managing Editor, National Underwriter Property & Casualty

5. Stay up to date

“We now live and work in a true 24-hour business cycle, with industry-moving events happening around the world and around the clock. If anything, the advent of digital news platforms -- like the Web, mobile, and tablet – have made this even more prevalent, even in the B2B space. Now that we’re all connected 24/7, there’s no excuse for missing out on the latest industry news or showing up in the morning without that key piece of information. Your competition is up-to-date; it’s crucial that you be as well.

With this in mind, we at PropertyCasualty360 are committed to publishing the news that matters to the P&C industry, when it matters, and sharing it with you as soon as possible. Our redesigned site will make this easier, allowing us to send out breaking news updates and push notifications when important events happen.”

— Tim Sprinkle, Managing Editor, PropertyCasualty360.com
