The state with the 48th largest population is also the best place in the country to have your car repaired quickly after an accident. North Dakota ranked number one in the country for the lowest collision repair time after a fender bender according to data released by Enterprise-Rent-A-Car. The company's Automated Rental Management System (ARMS) tracks how long a replacement vehicle is rented by a customer following a collision.
According to the ARMS data, the average time a customer needed a rental vehicle was 10.7 days. Repair shops in North Dakota were able to shorten that amount of time by more than two days.
Here's a look at the states with the lowest collision repair days:
- North Dakota (8.0)
- Minnesota (8.1)
- Iowa (8.3)
- Utah (8.8)
- Idaho, Maine, Vermont (8.9)
Enterprise provides the information to collision centers to help them improve their efficiencies and customer service, as well as streamline communications with insurers and customers. The ARMS system allows repair centers to send text messages and emails to customers so they know where their car is in the process and how long the repairs will take. The information also assists repair centers with tracking, measuring and forecasting labor needs. Insurers can use the information to track cycle time for claims and repairs.
Oh, and the states with the longest repair times are:
- Rhode Island (14.1)
- Massachusetts (13.5)
- Louisiana (12.4)
- Texas (11.9)
- Mississippi, Alabama, New York (11.4)
