Hondas continued to be in demand among thieves, but overall, 2013 appears to a light year for vehicles thefts, relatively speaking, of course.
The National Insurance Crime Bureau says, in releasing its latest “Hot Wheels” auto-theft report, “After a slight increase in 2012, the FBI predicts a reduction in national vehicle thefts of 3.2%.”
Furthermore, the NICB says that if the FBI's preliminary numbers hold, thefts will be under 700,000 for 2013, “a number not seen since 1967 and a reduction in vehicle thefts of over 50% since 1991,” which was the peak year for thefts.
