Former CEO at Capita Commercial Insurance Services John Bissell joined the ACORD staff as senior vice president of global operations, ACORD announced.
In his new role, Mr. Bissell will supervise ACORD's global and London market operations, as well as manage ACORD's London and global staffs.
Mr. Bissell will also take on responsibilities currently held by ACORD's London-based vice president, Roy Laker, who will be retiring later this year.
“John is a forward-looking leader with a deep knowledge of the global industry and a passion for technology,” said ACORD president and CEO Gregory Maciag. “He has a track record of spearheading progressive change, and we are very pleased to have him apply his skills at ACORD.
“As more and more players enter the international insurance marketplace, ACORD's role in the industry becomes even more vital,” Bissell said. “I look forward to working with ACORD members and partners in both established and emerging markets to help them achieve their goals for global growth.”
