As pretty much anyone who has ever tried to (1) hold down a job and (2) raise a family at the same time knows, it isn't easy balancing all the demands modern life places on our time.

Now we have scientific proof of that fact.

According to a study released Thursday by Bright Horizon Family Solutions, “working moms and dads make significant sacrifices and endure a great deal of anxiety trying to strike the right work-life balance.” The report found that nearly half of respondents worry that they could be fired because of their home responsibilities, while nearly 25% admitted to bending the truth at work to explain missed work time due to family responsibilities.

While not necessarily directly related to insurance, this is valuable information for agency owners, corporate executives and anyone else who manages people directly on a day-to-day basis. Truth is, it's tough out there, and working parents are still struggling. A fact worth keeping in mind.
