The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America announced that U.S. Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) is the Gerald Solomon-IIABA Legislator of the Year for 2013. The Big "I" also bestowed three prestigious awards at its annual legislative conference. Mike Wojcik was the 2013 recipient of the Sidney O. Smith Award, Brad Smith received the 2013 Barney Burns Award, and the Independent Insurance Agents of Wisconsin received the 2013 Herdon Award, which is bestowed upon the state association whose legislative achievements on behalf of the Big "I" and its members are deemed most outstanding.
Joel Hirsch was named president of Allied Public Risk, a new division at Aegis General Insurance Agency, a subsidary of K2 Insurance Services LLC.
