Industry veteran Peter Gorman was appointed interim chief executive officer of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford's North American subsidiary Cooper Gay Re.

Gorman previously served as executive vice president of Cooper Gay Re and has more than 22 years of experience in the reinsurance market.

“Our core vision for the Cooper Gay Re business remains unchanged and its delivery will continue under Peter's leadership. We thank Ron for his service and wish him continued success in his future endeavors,” said president and CEO of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford North America, Shaun Hooper.

Toby Esser, CGSC Group CEO said: “Cooper Gay Re is led by a very experienced and highly skilled management team, which demonstrates our plans for the long-term continuity and development of this business. Peter is well known in the market and will provide the depth of leadership required to build this important element of the CGSC group.”

Gorman's promotion follows the departure of CEO Ron Carlier, who resigned six months after being appointed to the role. Gorman will be based out of the company's New York office.
