President of RCM&D Bob Cawley was elected the chairman of Assurex Global for the 2013-2015 term. Mr. Cawley was elected during the Global Conference and Shareholders' meeting held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The New York Alliance Against Insurance Fraud elected Jim Berrigan and Jim Potts as chairman and vice chairman of the nonprofit organization. The board also elected John McHale as secretary and appointed Tom Mansfield and David Covino to open seats on the board.
Craig Welsh, distribution leader for Westfield Group, joined InVEST's national board of directors. Welsh brings 20 years of insurance industry experience to the education program.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. acquired Addison, a Texas-based benefits brokerage employee benefits analysis corporation.
AssuredPartners Inc. acquired MGA Property & Casualty Insurance Agency, located in Sarasota, Fla., through its Dawson Cos. platform.
Carlyle Investment Management LLC is taking a controlling stake in Edgewood Partners Insurance Center Inc. (EPIC), a San Fransciso-based insurance brokerage. The company's investment will enable EPIC to continue its growth strategy and support acquisitions of complementary insurance distribution platforms.
