Travelers has launched an online cyber security portal that provides customers access to data-theft education and specialized cyber policies.
“Travelers Cyber Security” includes tools to help evaluate cyber exposures, a review of common consumer protection laws (49 state breach laws, USA Patriot Act, EU Data Protection Directive, etc.), and direct links to cyber-policy agents who can point clients towards a product tailored to their needs.
During October, the portal will also post weekly cyber security tips for National Cyber Security Awareness month, promoted by the Cyber Security Alliance in an effort by the U.S. government to help consumers and organizations assess cyber security resources.
“Technology and the sharing of information have become central parts of both business operations and our everyday lives, which is why it is so important that we are all aware of the many forms cyber risks take and what strategies can help keep business owners and individuals safe,” said Tim Francis, Travelers' enterprise cyber lead. “For nearly three decades, Travelers has helped prevent and manage cyber exposures, and we hope this new resource center helps people better prepare for the unexpected.”
Travelers' e-coverage offerings include a broad-ranging CyberRisk policy and products for technology companies, public entities, small businesses, and small businesses.
Some clients will receive an invitation to Travelers' new eRisk Hub, which features content from risk managers and other specialists regarding computer forensics, forensic accounting, crisis communications, and legal counsel issues related to cyber risk. The hub features privacy-control tools, a cyber attack cost calculator, a learning center, and a consultation with a “breach coach” in case of a hacking incident.
