The world is busy. Time is at a premium, and calendars fill up weeks ahead. The expectation to make your work your life, especially at upper management levels, permeates our culture.

I love my work, so this wouldn't be so terrible for me. As one of the lucky ones for whom work feels like play, going home at night to write a new chapter in my second book or prepare for a board meeting isn't a sacrifice, it's a joy.

Do we, as leaders and managers, set the best example when we push ourselves too hard? Even if we love working, how does it look to our charges? I wonder about the perception, and would love to hear what you think.
