The 17th annual ACE America's Claims Event will take place in Austin, Texas, June 19-21, 2013. It will be held at the Hilton Austin and is sponsored by Claims magazine.
This year's conference offerings are organized into three tracks: Combating Fraud, Litigation & Subrogation, and Claims Technology & Efficiency. The first of the three tracks will cover issues including point-of-sale fraud fighting and establishing a winning anti-fraud culture, while the second track will offer different perspectives on emerging trends in cyber liability, along with subrogation techniques to maximize recovery. Finally, the technology track will discuss efficient project management, predictive analytics and big data, and the use of satellite imagery in improving claims processes, according to Ezra Steinberg, the conference program manager.
In total, the event will feature between 50 and 55 speakers, composed of insurance professionals, lawyers, vendors, and content experts. Becky Turcotte, ACE marketing manager, says this year's conference is on pace to have more attendees than last year's event—around 400 professionals from across the insurance claims arena.
Steinberg, Turcotte, and event operations manager Genevieve Prifte are all excited about the vibrant city of Austin as the backdrop for the conference. Attendees will be in the center of excitement and entertainment of Austin, and the location also provides the opportunity for strategic partnerships that will strengthen the event, including Dallas Claims Association, the Austin Claims Association, and the Atlantic Claim Executives Association.
New at this year's conference is The Case Study Power Hour. “These sessions will provide real-life examples of situations and issues and allow the attendees to take what was learned in that situation and apply it to their individual claims department and organization structure,” Steinberg says.
Turcotte says the event will also discuss timely developments in claims like “new technologies and the impact of social media on claims and the industry.”
Despite all this, Turcotte says the event's greatest strength is the “sound and trustworthy relationship” National Underwriter and Claims Magazines have built with the insurance industry. “You know what you are getting when you attend ACE. You are getting a top-notch claims event, world-class professionals and speakers, and superior networking events, all backed up by the solid foundation that National Underwriter has built. Whether you are coming to learn, network, seek new business, or just enjoy being among your peers in a new and exciting location, ACE has everything you are looking for in an insurance claims event.”
To pay tribute this strong foundation and the innovative relationships that are at the heart of the ACE, the event will also celebrate the 60th anniversary of Claims Magazine—details for the celebration are still in the works.
