Recent bushfires in Australia have caused nearly AU$60 million ($63.2 million) in insured losses so far, the Insurance Council of Australia says.
Losses are estimated at about AU$49 million ($51.6 million) in Tasmania, where 510 claims have been received from policyholders as of Jan. 9.
In a statement, ICA CEO Ron Whelan says more than 100 properties have been destroyed in Tasmania.
