Willis has launched its new online underwriting and data-management system, WillisCaptus, for use by Risk Retention Groups (RRG), captives and healthcare providers.

WillisCaptus, designed to handle thousands of data records, aids these groups in developing underwriting information by eliminating paperwork, file maintenance and storage.

“We believe that WillisCaptus significantly changes the RRG underwriting environment,” says Aidan Kelly, senior vice president and chief operations officer of Willis Global Captive Practice. He says the program is a solution to clients in need of assistance streamlining the risk-retention process.

More than 100 healthcare systems nationwide have already signed on to the program, including the Catholic Healthcare Initiatives (CHI) healthcare system, which operates in 19 U.S. states and includes 76 hospitals and $10.5 billion in revenue. The company uses the system to cover its medical malpractice and professional liability insurance lines.
