Chicago-based HUB International topped the month of November with four publicly announced acquisitions, followed by Marsh & McLennan Agency with two.

The four agencies Hub acquired were:

  • Huestis Commercial Insurance Ltd., of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The firm operates from three locations throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. It represents Hub's first acquisition in the Atlantic Provinces.
  • Fort Point Insurance Services in San Francisco, which specializes in arranging personal-lines coverage, with a concentration in high net-worth individuals and family offices.
  • Connor & Kelly, a Spokane, Wash.–based insurance-brokerage firm.
  • Raintree Insurance Agency, Inc., a San Bernardino, Calif.-based insurance brokerage firm.

The two agencies acquired by Marsh & McLennan Agency, a subsidiary of the insurance brokerage firm Marsh were:

  • Howalt & McDowell Insurance, Inc. of South Dakota. Founded in 1946, the firm has annual revenue of approximately $16 million and offers a wide range of property and casualty, surety, personal protection, and employee-benefits insurance to individuals and midsize businesses in the upper Midwest.
  • Worcester, Mass.-based The Protector Group Insurance Agency. Founded in 1928, Protector Group offers a wide range of P&C insurance, employee-benefits services, personal insurance, and individual financial services to midsize companies and individuals in New England. The agency generates approximately $13.6 million in annual revenues.

Insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher says it acquired one insurance broker last month, SRS Underwriting Agency PTY Ltd. headquartered in Brisbane, Australia.

Founded in 1993, SRS Underwriting is a managing general agency which offers a wide variety of insurance products including liability, construction, prestige home, professional risks, motor, and accident and health cover for their broker clients.
